A heart function test uses an MRI to measure heart chamber volumes with a high degree of accuracy. This approach is the gold standard of care in specialized imaging.
What information will this test provide?
A heart function cardiac MRI will provide valuable information about your heart that is difficult to get outside of a hospital. This test will identify the following:

- The size and shape of your heart
- How well your heart squeezes at each heartbeat (this is called ejection fraction)
- The status of your heart muscles and regional deformation of heart muscles
- Abnormalities or deformations in the heart that are commonly masked or difficult to diagnose
